The 599 HY-KERS concept car is based on the 599 GTB Fiorano and represents Ferrari’s first venture into green cars and was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, but it uses no ordinary plug-in hybrid system, instead it incorporates the Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) developed for Formula One.

The 599 HY-KERS is powered by a V12 engine and a 100 bhp tri-phase, high-voltage electric motor that is coupled to a dual-clutch 7-speed F1 transmission. During acceleration, the electric motor comes into play to provide instantaneous torque but the hybrid system also functions as a full-electric drivetrain to reduce fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. During braking the electric motor functions as a generator, using the kinetic energy from the negative torque generated under braking to charge the batteries.

Ferrari has announced the most potent Ferrari production car ever, the Ferrari 599 GTO, ahead of its debut later this month at the Beijing Motor Show! The 599 GTO is based on the 599XX and evokes memories of the Ferrari 250 GTO of the 960s and the Ferrari 288 GTO of the 1980s, while outperforming even the legendary Ferrari Enzo. Indeed, Ferrari calls it a road-going version of the Ferrari 599XX track car, a fitting achievement for the new flagship of the 599 range!

The Ferrari 599 GTO is powered by the 65-degree 6.0-Liter V12 engine from the 599XX that is detuned for road use and features a race-bred diffuser-type intake system with short inlet tracts. The engine produces a maximum of 661 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 457 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 rpm. That’s enough to power the 3295 lb car from zero to 62 mph in a blistering 3.35 seconds and on to a top speed of over 208 mph!

The Ferrari 599 GTO will have a limited production run of only 599 units so get your order in early!

Novitec Rosso have turned their magic on the outgoing Ferrari F430 Scuderia to produce a special tuned F430 called the Edizione 747. Novitec Rosso’s treatment includes a special two-tone special matte yellow and grey paint, and darkened taillights, side markers and reflectors. The ride height of the Ferrari is also lowered by 30 millimeters but customers may purchase the optional hydraulic lift system that raises the car’s height by 40mm at the push of a button to safely clear parking ramps, low curbs and speed bumps.

Under the hood, the naturally-aspirated 4.3-Liter V8 from the F430 is heavily modified with a twin-supercharger and ECU and other upgrades to improve the V8′s output to from 510 bhp in stock form to a massive 747 bhp at 8,500 rpm! Peak torque is also improved from an already healthy 346 lb ft to a hefty 544 lb ft at 6,300 rpm! However, the extra power only allows the Edizione 747 to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just under 3.4 seconds, which is only slightly better than the stock Ferrari F430 Scuderia! Though the Edizione 747 will top out at maximum speed of 218 mph!

The 458 Italia is Ferrari’s latest two-seater, mid-rear engined berlinetta, which the company says is a massive leap forward from their previous mid-rear engined sports cars. Once again Ferrari relied on the input from Michael Schumacher to refine the 458 Italia’s road handing and precision.

The Pininfarina designed Ferrari 458 Italia is powered by a new mid-rear mounted 4.5-Liter direct injection V8 engine that produces a maximum power of 570 bhp at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 398 lb ft at 6,000 rpm! More than 80% of the torque is available from 3,250 rpm! Acceleration time from 0 to 62 mph comes up in just under 3.4 seconds! Power and torque is transmitted to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with sporty gear ratios matched to the power and torque curves of the V8 engine, which allows the 458 Italia to reach its maximum speed of just over 202 mph in top gear!

However, the Ferrari 458 Italia will only make its public debut at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Like its predecessor, the latest two-seater mid-rear engined berlinetta will feature an aluminum chassis to reduce weight to just 3,042 pounds dry. The chassis is supported by twin wishbones at the front and a multi-link set-up at the rear.

The new two-seater coupe is powered by a new direct-injection 4.5-Liter V8 engine that produces a maximum of 562 bhp and peak torque 398 lb-ft at 6000 rpm, of which 80% is available at a low 3,250 rpm! That’s enough power and torque to propel the mid-rear engined Ferrari 458 Italia from zero to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds, and on to a top speed of 202 mph! The V8 engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with gear ratios engineered to match the power and torque curves of the engine.
