Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS
Aston Martin are at it again. A few month ago they unveil the special edition V8 Vantage N400 and DB9 LM celebrate Aston Martin’s motor sport achievements at the Nürburgring 24-hour and the Le Mans 24-hour endurance races earlier this year. This time they are to unveil a special-edition V12 Vantage RS!
According to AutoWeek, who broke the story, the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS was unveiled as a concept car earlier this week, but sources suggest it could be lined up for a limited production run. Let’s hope so as it’s aimed at the highly acclaimed Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, and we just love watching supercar wars!
The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is a two-seater Gran Turismo sports car that replaced the Ferrari 575 M Maranello in 2006. It’s 6.0-liter V12 pushes out a massive 620 hp at 7,600 rpm and 448 lb-ft of torque at 5,600 rpm! What’s more is that the 599 GTB Fiorano is said to be the benchmark of excellence in sports cars! So Aston Martin are really aiming high! But they’ve got a plan; the V12 powering the Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS is not taken from any production car, but is a detuned version of the V12 that powered Aston Martin’s DBRS9 race car, complete with a dry sump lubrication system, tuned length exhaust manifolds, forged pistons and steel con-rods! The engine delivers 600 hp at 6,250 rpm and torque peaks at 510 lb-ft. at 5,000 rpm! That’s enough to propel the V12 Vantage RS concept is the fastest accelerating road car ever built by the V12 Vantage RS from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.0 seconds and on to 100 mph just 4.5 seconds later!
If sources are correct and the V12 Vantage RS does go into production, it will be the hottest sports car ever and produced by Aston Martin, as well as being the fastest accelerating road car ever built by Aston Martin!
